I was somewhat skeptical before me, a friend of the three-part series by Philip Pullman "His Dark Materials" gift. The first volume - "Northern Lights" - as I had to film "The Golden Compass" seen and this was no great revelation for me was the fantastic, more of a somewhat dry candy-colored piece of Hollywood with Nicole Kidman.

The book has a very different sound - much more complex, critical and in some cases - notably to the following volumes of "The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass" - also niht more suitable for smaller children.
